Race Six : (606) - THE HONG KONG LIONS CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1800Meters
Horse No 4 VOYAGE SAMURAI (J026) K C Leung After the event K C Leung advised that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead by PRAY FOR MIR and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 WINNING DRAGON (E461) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 BUNDLE AWARD (K020) Z Purton Near the 250 Metres was disappointed for clear running between CALIFORNIATOTALITY and HELENE FEELING.
BUNDLE AWARD was then shifted to the inside of CALIFORNIATOTALITY but then had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 150 Metres when racing in restricted room between STEPS AHEAD and CALIFORNIATOTALITY.
After the event Z Purton stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after being slow to begin his mount settled further back in the field than instructed.

Horse No 9 BRAVEHEARTS (H389) M F Poon Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between C P BRAVE and STEPS AHEAD, both of which shifted ground.
BRAVEHEARTS was then shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier in the early stages.

Californiatotality settled a distant fourth with cover but just got up late to land a betting plunge in class record time. He's now won three of four starts over yesterday's Sha Tin 1,800m. Punted late Steps Ahead was pipped on the wire after getting his nose in front a few strides earlier after a box-seat run from gate 10. He rarely produces a bad run. Well-backed late Pray For Mir wouldn't go down without a fight after moving to the lead 380m out following a speed-tracking run from the widest draw. It was a good effort in a higher class. Favourite Bundle Award ran on late to just take fourth without threatening the top three after making his run third last following a tardy start. It wasn't a bad performance. Helene Feeling just lost fourth by a bob of the heads after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest performance carrying a share of top weight. Bravehearts ran on without threatening settling fourth last after a tardy start. He was first up off a break and prefers a longer trip.
