Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Meepmeep settled prominently one off with cover and just reeled in Family Fortune for a first win at his 13th start. Family Fortune was just denied late after poking his head briefly in front 50m out when working into the clear 200m out following a rails run from behind midfield. He proved a placing last start on turf was not a fluke. Tattenham kept on gamely for third after pressing forward from a wide draw to track the leader one off the fence. It was a solid effort at his first run on the surface. Punted late So Awesome gradually faded after dictating the run from gate two. It was another honest performance despite a rare outing on dirt. Harry's Hero ran on late for fifth after settling second last from gate 11. He's not easily to get right. Yeaboi came from last and widest out on the turn to finish next best. He couldn't build on a win and three thirds from four prior starts following a return to the dirt. Colourful Baron whacked on onepaced after travelling wide without cover sitting behind midfield the entire trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (601) - LUK WU HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 DECRELOT (J551) M L Yeung After the event M L Yeung stated that when the pace increased from the 700 Metres his mount came under pressure before it commenced to give ground in the Home Straight.

He added when he felt that there was something amiss with DECRELOT he did not continue to push it out over the final 200 Metres when not in a competitive position.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of DECRELOT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, DECRELOT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 2 MEEPMEEP (H234) Z Purton Approaching the 200 Metres was hampered when taken wider by FAMILY FORTUNE which shifted to the outside of TATTENHAM to obtain clear running.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 EN PERFECTO (J409) P N Wong Badly crowded shortly after the start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, EN PERFECTO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 4 THE PRIME (J352) L Hewitson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 5 COLOURFUL BARON (G301) J Orman On jumping was severely checked when crowded by MEEPMEEP which jumped awkwardly and shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.

Horse No 8 TATTENHAM (H121) A Hamelin After the event A Hamelin stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position.

Horse No 11 SILVER DESTINY (J096) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was checked when crowded between SUPER TREASURE and EN PERFECTO.

After the event M Chadwick stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after being checked at the start his mount settled further back.

He added that in the middle stages SILVER DESTINY raced keenly and therefore near the 800 Metres he shifted his mount to the outside of MEEPMEEP to start a forward move.

He said as a result SILVER DESTINY then raced wide and without cover thereafter before giving ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" Horse No 13 HARRY'S HERO (H332) K De Melo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
