Race Ten : (610) - HO CHUNG RIVER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 JUNEAU PRIDE (J443) B Avdulla Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 ANOTHER WORLD (K005) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
Raced keenly in the early stages.
Bumped near the 250 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 ABSOLUTE HONOUR (K260) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 5 MEGA FORCE (K200) K C Leung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 6 RAGGA BOMB (K162) A Hamelin Shifted in at the start, made contact with JUNEAU PRIDE and became unbalanced.
In the early stages raced keenly and near the 900 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from ABSOLUTE HONOUR.
Horse No 7 STELLAR SWIFT (J139) H Bentley Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 8 TARGET AUDIENCE (K107) A Badel Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and lost ground.
After the 200 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between NEW FOREST and BRIGHT DAY.
TARGET AUDIENCE then lay in when placed under pressure for some distance thereafter.
Horse No 10 NEW FOREST (K094) L Hewitson After the event L Hewitson stated that his mount did not appreciate being pressured in the lead by BRIGHT DAY and this impacted upon the horse's finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 SOUTH STAR (K153) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 CALL ME GORGEOUS (K091) M Chadwick Approaching the 250 Metres shifted out slightly and made contact with ANOTHER WORLD, resulting in CALL ME GORGEOUS becoming unbalanced.
After the event M Chadwick advised that from a wide barrier he was instructed to take up a forward position.
He said when positioned to the outside of JUNEAU PRIDE, when that runner did not shift to the rail, he was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Trainer A S Cruz was fined the sum of $15,000 for a breach of Trainers' Handbook Regulation 68(x) in that during a compliance check conducted in his stable on 25 February 2025 he was found in his possession medication that had not been approved by the Club's Veterinary Departments.

Racing Laboratory tests of TRADITION, VERBIER, GIDDY UP, NORTHERN FIRE BALL, TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR, HARMONY GALAXY, CAN'T GO WONG, SOVEREIGN FUND, GOOD PROSPECT, YOUTHFUL SPIRITS, COLOURFUL KING, STELLAR SWIFT, BEAUTY THUNDER, QUANTUM PATCH, CASA ROCHESTER, ROCKET SPADE, FLYING FORTRESS, GOLDEN EMPIRE and STORM RIDER (9.4.25) proved negative.

South Star travelled one off from better than midfield and just got up late to beat Juneau Pride to improve his record to two wins on the bounce and a second from four starts despite a rise in class. He has the tools to head higher. Juneau Pride just found one too good after moving to the lead 200m out settling third and one off the fence with cover from gate 10. Stellar Swift ran on nicely late between runners to snatch third after getting held up for a run until near the 200m following a patient ride five back on the fence. It was his best performance from 11 starts in this grade following a recent win in Class Four. Favourite Another World was outdashed for third after a oneoff trip from behind midfield. He couldn't overcome a 10-pound rise in weight following a win. Sugar Ball ran on steadily for fifth following a rails run from midfield. He's honest and will be hard to beat shortly with a return to Class Four. Target Audience ran on without threatening from towards the rear.
