Favourite Top Dragon travelled one off in midfield, hit the front 280m out and proved too smart to win in class record time at his fifth start. He had been knocking on the door with seconds in two earlier runs. Gallant Epoch kept on nicely for second after a speed-tracking run outside Shine Bright. He had been racing well at Sha Tin before failing without the best of runs at the Valley. Punted late Jubilant Winner ran on nicely to just miss second after a rails run from behind midfield. He has been racing well without winning. Golden Luck kept on well for fourth after a box-seat run. It was a pleasing effort at his first run over 1,400m. Jolly Jumper stayed on all right after a rails run from midfield. He's shown flashes of ability in his eight starts but still appears destined for Class Five. Fortune Star ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. He has been doing his best work late in both starts. Strathpeffer just held his ground after a prominent run wide without cover the entire trip from gate seven.

Race Two : (602) - TSING LUNG TAU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

Horse No 2 GALLANT EPOCH (J451) L Hewitson Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 TOP DRAGON (J481) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 DREAMING WINNER (K046) A Atzeni Bumped at the start and became unbalanced.

Horse No 5 THUNDER BLINK (J019) K C Leung On jumping became unbalanced when it shifted in and made contact with DREAMING WINNER.

From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 6 GOLDEN LUCK (H159) P N Wong K Teetan (SHINE BRIGHT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of GOLDEN LUCK, resulting in GOLDEN LUCK having to be checked away from the heels of SHINE BRIGHT.

K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Saturday, 10 May 2025 at Sha Tin.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.

Horse No 7 FORTUNE STAR (K003) L Ferraris Briefly held up for clear running between JUBILANT WINNER and DREAMING WINNER near the 400 Metres.

After the event L Ferraris reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.

Horse No 8 JUBILANT WINNER (J346) B Thompson Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 9 REGENCY WIN WIN (K214) H Bentley Bumped on jumping.

After the event H Bentley stated that his mount raced greenly throughout the event and came under pressure when racing in restricted room to the inside of STRATHPEFFER near the 600 Metres.

Horse No 10 SANDMAN (K220) K De Melo Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded by STRATHPEFFER which was taken out by GALLANT EPOCH.

Horse No 11 STRATHPEFFER (H095) J Orman Shortly after the start was hampered when taken wider by GALLANT EPOCH.

When questioned J Orman stated that his mount raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

He added when placed under pressure in the early part of the Home Straight STRATHPEFFER lay in and finished the race off only fairly thereafter.

Jockey Orman was warned in relation to using his whip in a forehand manner forward of the saddle on two occasions.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 ARDEN (J505) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by SANDMAN.

Horse No 13 JOLLY JUMPER (K110) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and was bumped shortly afterwards.

Near the 50 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when attempting to improve into a narrow run between GOLDEN LUCK and JUBILANT WINNER.

Horse No 14 SHINE BRIGHT (H385) K Teetan K Teetan pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 800 Metres (see GOLDEN LUCK).
