Recap by phillip woo

Good Luck Babe just scrambled in after straightening nearly two lengths on top for a first win at his ninth start. He appreciated the step up to 1,600m after knocking on the door in three starts over 1,400m. Matsu Victor just failed to get up after a prominent run on the fence. It was another honest effort over 1,600m. Oriental Smoke made it close on the wire after getting held up behind the winner until the 100m following a rails run from midfield. He's close to a win. The sensationally backed Special Hedge gradually faded after going forward to track the winner from gate 12. He's given a decent sight in his past two of three starts following a Class Five success. Beauty Viva ran on steadily for fifth after eventually slotting one off with cover travelling behind midfield from gate 10. He's still acclimatising but should find his mark shortly in this grade. Smiling Collector only held his ground when asked for an effort after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He couldn't build on a rallying third last start.
