This week’s question: “What is one thing you would pack for a trip to Mars?” To take part, drop us a line via this form by 12pm on Wednesday, March 19.

Lee Yau-ngai, 17, Cumberland Presbyterian Church Yao Dao Secondary School: I would go to a bee for advice. Bees build hives collaboratively, resulting in massive and intricate structures. Nowadays, many people lack cooperative skills. A young bee can offer valuable advice on teamwork.

Ethan Chiang Yan-ting, 15, Stewards Ma Kam Ming Charitable Foundation Ma Ko Pan Memorial College: The turtle is well-known for its long lifespan, which suggests that it has likely experienced a variety of events. This gives the turtle a unique perspective and allows it to offer wise advice. Because turtles embody a more relaxed lifestyle, I believe their message would be: “Live in the moment and don’t rush through life.”

Matilda Wong Tsz-nok, 13, STFA Tam Pak Yu College: Elephants would give the best advice because they are intelligent and helpful. They can remember many things. Additionally, elephants are very sociable, so they could teach me how to improve my social skills.

Vinnis Lee Hin-yau, 15, TWGHs Li Ka Shing College: I think goats are smart; they can recognise human emotions and often respond by making sounds to comfort us when we are feeling down. If goats could talk, I believe they would say, “Don’t be sad. Let’s play together.”

Lee Lok-hei, 14, Immaculate Heart of Mary College: The answer is parrots. I have one at home, and it often learns from my mum, especially her nagging about studying and avoiding video games. Every day, it repeats her words, which helps me concentrate on my studies. It’s amusing and motivating to have such a clever companion.

Top 10: What was a small act of kindness that recently helped you?

Chan Ming-yan, 13, CCC Chuen Yuen College: The answer is parrots. I have one at home, and it often learns from my mum, especially her nagging about studying and avoiding video games. Every day, it repeats her words, which helps me concentrate on my studies. It’s amusing and motivating to have such a clever companion.

Marvina Lim Man-yan, 15, Po Leung Kuk Tang Yuk Tien College: I believe koalas offer some of the best life advice. Students in Hong Kong often have hectic schedules and suffer from sleep deprivation on a daily basis. Our beloved koalas might say, “Take a rest, my friend!” Perhaps we should learn from them by prioritising regular sleep and avoiding all-nighters!

Jarvis Ysoi Yung-siu, 14, King Ling College: The octopus would give me the best advice because it has nine brains, and each of its tentacles can generate thoughts. This means it could offer me nine different suggestions! Even if its advice isn’t perfect, its tentacles can assist me. After all, it must have faced many challenges in the deep sea.

Cheng Tsz-yue, 16, Hong Kong Tang King Po College: The queen ant, representing qualities of strength and determination, commands attention, respect and admiration. Under her leadership, conflicts among ants are non-existent. She offers invaluable advice and well-thought-out plans. She encourages us to cooperate, treat others fairly, and to make the best use of each individual’s talents.

Daniel Chan Ching-hei, 14, TWGHs Li Ka Shing College: Sharks are killed at a rate of over 100 million each year to make shark fin soup, highlighting the destructive nature of the shark fin trade. To help slow the rapid decline in shark populations, there may be a need for a complete ban on shark fin sales in the city.
