Last month, we received many great submissions from our readers, covering everything from the city’s waste-charging scheme to Lionel Messi’s visit to Hong Kong.

Best Letter
Megan Chan from Island School wrote a compelling letter about the immense risks war journalists face as they courageously report from dangerous conflict zones, recognising their relentless efforts and contribution to humanity.
Alvin Wong from Carmel Secondary School expressed his concerns over the declining proficiency in Cantonese among the city’s younger generation, highlighting the need for prioritising Cantonese education.
Best Face Off
Valerie Chiu Wing-yee from St Mary’s Canossian College claimed the title of best debater this month with her meticulous argument against the implementation of a grace period for Hong Kong’s waste-charging scheme. Great job!
Best Insight
Jeffrey Co Chun-lok from Hong Kong Tang King Po College won best insight for his submission to The Lens where he gave a thoughtful assessment of the potential use of e-payments for Hong Kong taxis.
Most Creative
Pinky Chan from Fung Kai Liu Man Shek Tang Secondary School won the most creative award thanks to her funny stage name Chris Wong, often seen on English exam papers in Hong Kong.
Most Engaged School
Valtorta College made a number of quality submissions to our Your Voice page, covering topics from parenting to sport events. Four of them were published. Congratulations!
Winners will receive a certificate and a special YP notebook to encourage them in their writing journeys. We will contact the students about their prizes.
