This week’s question: What was your most recent search on Google?

To take part, drop us a line via this form or email us at [email protected] by 11.59pm on March 20. Tell us your name, age and school.

Sophie Leung Cheuk-yin, 11, St Rose of Lima’s School: As I get older, I am starting to appreciate my family more, especially what my parents do to support me. I have begun to realise how much my parents have sacrificed for me by working hard to earn money to raise me. I have grown to understand their perspective and value their advice whenever I encounter a dilemma. The more I grow, the more I have to remind myself that they are growing old too. I will try to cherish every moment I have with them.

Owen Yu Ting-him, 12, Hong Kong Tang King Po College: As I age, I find myself developing a greater appreciation for money. It has become clear to me that money is essential for various aspects of life. We need it for food, clothing, housing and education. When it comes to healthcare, having money becomes crucial for medication and treatment. Being a book lover, I have realised that money is necessary to buy books, which fuels my passion for learning. This realisation has motivated me to cultivate saving habits to ensure I can fulfil my desires.

Harry Ngai Ming-chit, 15, King Ling College: I have started to fall in love with nature. I developed a healthy connection with nature and am able to appreciate its beauty. I enjoy spending time in parks and environments where I can breathe fresh air and relax. I have also become more environmentally friendly. I recycle things such as plastic bottles and try not to use the air conditioner unless I really need to.

Hylia Chan, 11, St. Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School: Socialising. As I grow older, I have realised that true friends can lift you up when you are down and serve as a shining beacon when you are lost in the dark. I recently met a few girls who share my interests, like reading, drawing, and liking cats. We can chat a lot about the latest books or art; they also care about and support me. Though I still want to spend time alone occasionally, going to school with real friends is much more enjoyable.

What is the silliest mistake you have ever made?

Ella Wong Kiu-yan, 17, Leung Shek Chee College: I have started to love being alone. I used to hate the emotions of dreariness and sorrow brought by loneliness, but now, somehow, I am beginning to enjoy the distinctive vibe of being alone. The calmness and peace enable me to meditate, which is precious in our fast-paced daily lives.

Kelly Chan Yin-lam, 13, TWGHs Li Ka Shing College: I have started to love myself as I grow older. I now understand that my body is my most important asset in life. I have adjusted my diet, choose healthy foods and exercise regularly. I have also improved my sleep quality with a regular schedule and corrected my habit of staying up late. I focus on my mental health, learning to relax and reduce stress. I have realised that only when I am healthy can I have more energy to pursue my dreams and enjoy every moment. Therefore, I am determined to take good care of my body.

Luk Sum-long, 13, Kwok Tak Seng Catholic Secondary School: My mum. As I get older, I realise how challenging it is to raise a child. Mum is always there through thick and thin. When I was a kid, I could not grasp how much my mum loved me, but now that I have grown older, I appreciate all the ways my mum helps me to be the best person I can be.

Howard Chan Pok-ho, 15, SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School: When I was small, I hated sleeping very much. I thought it was a waste of time as I would rather spend all my time playing. However, after being in secondary school, I found that sleeping is the best way to relieve academic stress. As I decided to replace my mobile gaming time with sleeping, my life started to improve. I would not lack energy in the morning, and the dark shadows under my eyes gradually disappeared. Whenever I was down in the dumps, after a good night’s sleep, I would be completely recuperated.

Ivy Sin Nam-yik, 14, Po Leung Kuk Tang Yuk Tien College: I have begun to appreciate black more than warm orange and lovely pink. I want to portray that I am emotionally and physically mature as I grow up. Now, I think bright colours are too energetic and unsuitable for someone my age.

Yanice Yuen Tin-yan, 15, Pui Kiu College: I started to love independence and freedom. Since I’m getting older, I am eager to follow my own choices, valuing the opportunity to shape my own path rather than solely adhering to my parents’ guidance.
