Twice a month, the Hong Kong Mahjong Company organises a tour for visitors to learn about the history and daily operations of the city’s mahjong parlours. Participants can also learn to play the game without placing any bets. Christopher Cheung, the owner of Hong Kong Mahjong Company, says he aims to break the stigma and promote a healthy image of the industry. He also hopes to attract younger people as a way of keeping the traditional game alive.
