Philippines’ largest prison holds mass burial for 70 unclaimed bodies of inmates who died

Bodies of 70 inmates from the largest prison in the Philippines were laid to rest in what local officials described as the biggest-ever mass burial held by the facility. The bodies had piled up after the mostly poor families of the deceased failed to claim them. The discovery has also put a spotlight on the country’s overcrowded prison system.
