Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (760) - MIRS BAY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 LAUGH TALE (G406) E C W Wong Near the 850 Metres was momentarily crowded by ALP'S AFFECTION which shifted in before being corrected.
Near the 650 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from MEANINGFUL DRAGON.
Horse No 2 OWNERS' PRAISE (H047) L Hewitson Held up on the Home Turn.
Horse No 3 CIRCUIT FIERY (H475) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that when caught wide in the early stages he shifted his mount across behind runners near the 1100 Metres to obtain cover.
He added that in the Home Straight his intention was to shift to the outside of LAUGH TALE but was unable to do so when MEANINGFUL DRAGON was positioned directly to his outside.
He said as a result he then looked for runs to the inside, but when FAMILY FORTUNE (A Badel) shifted out at the 350 Metres, he was then obliged to steady his mount further before obtaining clear running near the 350 Metres.
A Badel was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 4 ALP'S AFFECTION (J289) K Teetan Bumped at the start.
The performance of ALP'S AFFECTION, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, ALP'S AFFECTION will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 MEANINGFUL DRAGON (H453) C Y Ho Near the 400 Metres became unbalanced as it commenced to give ground.
After the race, C Y Ho reported that his mount failed to handle the Soft tack conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of MEANINGFUL DRAGON, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, MEANINGFUL DRAGON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 ALL RICHES (G060) A Hamelin Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 FORERUNNER (G465) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the left side of its barrier and became unbalanced.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 SMILING COLLECTOR (G128) H Bentley A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 WIN SPEED (J205) B Thompson Shifted in at the start and made contact with ALP'S AFFECTION.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 13 LINK (J177) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 14 FALCON COURT (J056) A Atzeni After the race, A Atzeni reported that his mount jumped reasonably well and as a consequence he allowed it to stride forward.
He said in the early stages FALCON COURT over-raced and was caught very wide and without cover.
He further stated that FALCON COURT hung out in the middle stages before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Favourite All Riches never looked back after shooting straight to the front from gate six for a third career win over the 1,400m and first from six outings this term. Forerunner ran on steadily for second after improving to sit midfield on the fence mid-race. He's a winner waiting to happen after filling the frame in his past four starts. Well-backed late, Fun N Glory just held onto third after a pace-stalking run from gate 12. He was able to back up a pleasing fourth last start on the dirt for his new trainer. Laugh Tale ran on steadily through the middle to just miss a placing after travelling one-off with cover from behind midfield. He should find a race shortly in this grade. Circuit Fiery made some ground late near the inside after easing back to travel third last from gate 13. He should be a force to be reckoned with from a better draw. Plunged late in betting, Owners' Praise ran on without threatening with one wider out after making his run two from the rear. He's found it harder in back-to-back runs carrying big weights following a win.
