Sofie Chan Hong Yau, 11, St Paul’s Co-educational College: Hong Kong swimmer Siobhan Haughey. She is an Olympic champion, and she is very good in her studies, too. I’ve always wanted to swim very fast, but I haven’t had much success. Having Siobhan as my sister will, without a doubt, help me become a better swimmer and gain more confidence in my abilities.
Jacinth Lam Ji-heng, 15, Christ College: Russian leader Vladimir Putin. If I were his sibling, I would inspire him to become a person who cares about life and world peace. Then he wouldn’t wage war on Ukraine. If we were to ignore his dark side, he’s actually a smart person who loves dogs just as much as I do. So, if we were siblings, we’d possibly keep more than one dog and walk them every day together.
If you could be best friends with any fictional character, who would you choose?
Max Tse Ho-yan, 16, Fanling Rhenish Church Secondary School: That has to be Elon Musk. He is a creative genius who has made people’s lives better. He is the founder of the electric car company, Tesla. He is so rich that he can buy me anything I want, and perhaps I could hold some shares of Tesla. I would ask him about his plans to send humans to Mars by 2050. I want to visit the Red Planet, too. As his sibling, I am sure he would give me a free ticket for the trip.
Lau Wai, 12, Ho Yu College and Primary School (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen): I would choose US basketball star Stephen Curry to be my brother. He is a great player, so he can teach me how to play basketball. Also, he has three children, so I would be able to play basketball with them.
Charis Chan Wing-yiu, 14, Sheng Kung Hui Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School: Young American actress Zendaya who starred in the popular movies Dune and Spider-Man: No Way Home. I really like her acting. She is also true to herself. Unlike some celebrities, she does not let anyone change the way she is, ignores rumours and deals with hateful comments wisely. If she were my sibling, I could understand more about her extraordinary life while learning how to be a better person.
Brian Ho Kwun-wai, 16, SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School: South Korean comedian and television personality, Yoo Jae-suk. I am sure his comic behaviour would add spice to my life. What’s more, he is a respectful, hard-working artist. Despite his huge popularity, he still insists on giving a helping hand to up-and-coming actors and tries very hard to improve himself. I am sure I could learn a lot from him.
Which band would you invite to perform in Hong Kong?
Lee Chak-to, 16, Christian Alliance S. C. Chan Memorial College: Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. He has high social status and millions of dollars in his bank account. If he were my brother, I could lead a carefree life without worrying about anything. Also, I would be able to meet his Marvel friends such as Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.
Macy Lam Ka-wun, 14, Carmel Bunnan Tong Memorial Secondary School: l would choose Edan Lui from Hong Kong boy band Mirror. Compared to the other 11 members, he is the funniest and most sensitive person. If he were my brother, l would ask the other members of the band to sign autographs for me and give me free tickets to their concerts. Last but not least, when l feel down, he can comfort me and make me laugh. l would be the luckiest person in the world.
Tam Chik-miu, 11, Baptist (Sha Tin Wai) Lui Ming Choi Primary School: Famous British chef, Jamie Oliver. He can turn organic ingredients into great dishes in a simple way. He also cares a lot about young people. He used to have a restaurant that trained unemployed young people. He is a nice, easy-going person. If he were my brother, I could enjoy yummy, healthy food every day.
Yau Ming-fung, 14, Shun Tak Fraternal Association Tam Pak Yu College: I would pick South Korean singer-songwriter IU to be my sister. Her songs are innovative and very meaningful and I can easily remember the lyrics. I would be able to listen to her beautiful voice all the time and I can tell my friends about her. They would be very jealous.
