The contestants

Contestant 1

My dream superpower would be to control time. Then, whenever I’m writing an assignment, or studying, and I have a deadline to meet, I would be able to turn back time take as much time as I need to finish it. I could also turn a day of holiday into a week, or a month!

Contestant 2

Shape-shifting would be my power of choice. I’d shift into endangered animals and go into their habitats to study them without worrying about scaring them away. I could also turn into a bird and search for people when they get lost. I would be a life-saving animal-shifting superhero!

Contestant 3

My dream super power would be to control time. To be specific, I would want to control time in a particular place or to a particular person. So, for example, if I forgot to bring my homework to school, I would stop time at school, walk out and speed up time on public transport. I’d be able to go home and get my homework without anyone noticing! And, if I happened to see an accident, I could stop time for that situation so the emergency services would have time to come and help.

Contestant 4

Imagine if you could be someone else for a bit. Given my curiosity about everything, I think getting the chance to be anyone in the world would be really interesting. Putting myself, literally, into the shoes of other people would deepen my understanding of others. I could be anyone, from a celebrity to a homeless person. I would understand more of their situation – and, if I’m someone really rich, I might get to try on stuff from Gucci!

Contestant 5

There are so many superpowers to choose from, it would be impossible to choose. That is why I would like a superpower to help me wish for anything I want. That could be anything – from a bag of crisps to the power to be invisible. How convenient would that be?

Contestant 6

I’d have the ability to turn into a fantasy creature called the Pegacorn. A Pegacorn is a mix of a unicorn and a Pegasus. I’m sure you know what a unicorn is, but for those of you who don’t know what a Pagasus is, it’s a horse with wings. A Pegacorn therefore is a horse with wings and a horn. I’d be able to fly, and also look beautiful!

Contestant 7

It’s a bird … it’s a plane … no, it’s me! I would love to be able to fly. I enjoy photography, and being able to fly would give me the opportunity to take photos of the world from a totally different perspective – literally. I could also use this power to help others in need (namely by rescuing cats stuck in trees). Watch out, Superman, there’s a new hero in town!

Contestant 8

My dream superpower would be to know what people are thinking. Have you ever met someone who seemed really shy and who didn’t talk about themselves? If I could read their minds, I’d be able to get along with them better. I’d also be able to read the minds of teachers, too. I would know how to give a good answer to questions in exams – especially in the speaking exam, where I’d just pluck out the perfect answer from their heads.

Contestant 9

I’d love to be able to read minds, because I’d know what people are saying behind my back. I could improve myself based on their negative thoughts. I’d be able to tell what people think looks good on me, or if I’m behaving correctly. Another power I’d like to have would be the ability to control a person’s brain. If, for example, I wanted to know what a particular job was like, I’d find someone what that job, and control their brains to try that role for myself.
