This summer, Young Post is hosting a summer internship programme that offers students in Hong Kong a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of a newsroom.

Participants will learn the essentials of journalism, from crafting compelling news and feature stories to conducting impactful interviews and refining their editing skills. The most exciting part? Their work will be showcased online and in print as a testament to their growing expertise.

The programme, tailored for Form Three to Form Six students (or Year 10 to Year 13 students), requires participants to commit to the entire two-week internship period.

To apply for this educational experience, fill out the Google form below. Your application should include your name, school, a compelling reason why you’re a good fit for the programme, and a writing sample that showcases your skills, among other requirements.

You can rank your preferences for the three two-week internship periods:

  • July 8 to 19

  • July 22 to August 2

  • August 12 to 23

Applicants must commit to the entire two-week period, from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, at the SCMP office in Times Square. While we will do our best to accommodate your preferences, we cannot guarantee your top choice. You must be available for at least two of the periods, or we might not consider your application.

Please note, only three to four students will be accepted per session to ensure a personalised learning experience.

Applications close on May 15 at 11.59pm. Students who are chosen for the programme will be notified by email on June 12. Parents and guardians will need to sign a consent form giving their child permission to join the programme.
