As we conclude the year with our last 2023 print edition, it’s time to celebrate the outstanding submissions we received in November. Here are some of our favourites from last month.

Best Letters

Charis Chan from Malvern College Hong Kong won Best Letter for her opinion on the conflict between Israel and Hamas, highlighting how the war punishes innocent lives and pushes Palestinians out their homes.

Lau Tsoi-yi from Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School discussed in her letter the mental health woes faced by Hong Kong students, noting how the government, educators and parents are responsible for the emotional well-being of the city’s youth.

Best Face Off

Wong Hoi-yu from St Paul’s Co-educational College is our Best Debater this month for her sound argument on the redevelopment the iconic Choi Hung Estate, noting that transforming the estate could enhance community facilities to promote social interaction and nurture a sense of belonging.

Best Insight

Alisha Kong Ho-yan from St Paul’s Co-educational College won Best Insight for her submission to the Lens, which highlights the need to protect river dolphins from extinction, and how establishing protected areas that minimise human interference is crucial for the conservation of these dolphins.

Most Creative

Billy Law King-fung from Fanling Rhenish Church Secondary School wins the most creative award for his relatable answer about listening to the theme song of the beloved Japanese retail chain, Don Don Donki, over and over again.

Most Engaged School

The most engaged school is Pope Paul VI College, they made numerous submissions to Your Voice and Top 10. Thank you for your contribution.
