Wong Yen-chun, 15, Ma On Shan Tsung Tsin Secondary School: The most unique app I’ve ever found is called Fake Call. This app can fake an incoming call, even with a realistic call screen and ringtone. When you want to get out of an awkward situation or you just simply don’t want to be there, you can fake a call and get away with it. I have this app installed on my phone so I can run away from certain situations.
Solar Ho Siu-hin, 13, Pui Kiu College: A one-of-a-kind website I have been to is Sometimes Red Sometimes Blue. This was made in 2007 and when you enter the website, it will either show a blue or a red screen. There is no other feature to this website. The only thing that I think this website is useful for is to help you make decisions: for example, if it’s blue, I will drink soda, and if it’s red, I will drink juice. This is a very basic and unique website because of its uselessness.
Ken Ko Tsz-king, 16, Carmel Alison Lam Foundation Secondary School: Forest is the most unique app that I have ever found. It is an app that helps you stay focused while studying or working. All you have to do is set a timer for how long you want to concentrate. Unlike other timer apps, Forest takes it a step further by locking your phone screen within the time period you entered. This app is particularly helpful for a mobile games addict like me.
Kasim Yuen, 14, Shun Tak Fraternal Association Yung Yau College: The most different app I have found is NGL, which is an abbreviation for Not Gonna Lie. It is an anonymous social media platform, and when followers click on the link, they can ask questions or type something anonymously. I once saw someone confess their feelings to a girl through NGL, and they fell in love in the end. Users usually post NGL links in their Instagram stories. The unique point for me is it creates an opportunity for introverts to talk to others. Additionally, it also brings more fun into our lives.

Deng Hui-cong, 14, TWGHS Li Ka Shing collage: The most interesting website I have ever found is Zoom Earth. It records different situations in every part of the world, such as typhoons and heatwaves. It records them in detail and sometimes even opens live broadcasts for places where special events occur. You can click on the button to see the situation in that place. It allows me to know the current weather conditions in various regions. More importantly, using this website can help you gain some knowledge of geography.
Felicity Hui, 17, Immaculate Heart of Mary College: Duolingo, a language learning app, is the best for me. As secondary school students, my friends and I are, of course, sharing some unspeakable secrets. To hide our secrets, we need to learn some other languages, such as Japanese, Korean, or even Italian. We use this app to learn different languages as codes for our secrets so our parents will not know our inner thoughts. This way, we can keep our secrets truly exclusive and only for our circle of friends.
Richard Li Chun-kit, 15, Shun Tak Fraternal Association Yung Yau College: I think the most unique app is Discord because it offers multiple functions. For example, you can join a server to chat, live broadcast within the server, and play games with friends. This app enables my friends and me to stay connected and enhance our relationship even when we are not in the same location. I frequently use this app to communicate with my friends and play games like Minecraft together. We can even live-stream our gameplay for others to watch, creating a joyful atmosphere.
Charmaine Leung Chin-yuet, 15, St. Mary’s Canossian College: Bubble. It is a widely known app among K-pop lovers all around the world. It allows fans to buy tickets and interact with artists. Apart from receiving messages from the artists, you can also send messages to them, but are limited to three at a time and a character count corresponding to how long you’ve been on the app. If you are lucky enough, your message might be read by the artist. You will know that they have read it when the ‘1’ beside your message disappears before the following message appears on the screen.
What is a childish habit you hope to keep even as you grow older?
Owen Yu Ting-him, 12, Hong Kong Tang King Po College: Species in Pieces. This is a website about endangered species where one can learn about their threats and habitats. The unique aspect of this website is that the species are initially portrayed as jigsaw puzzle pieces. When users click on each piece, they are transported to a different page where they can delve deeper into the facts and information about that particular species.
Tsang Mei-yin, 13, Ho Yu College and Primary School (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen): The most unique app I have ever found is called Purrfect Tale, which has many kittens to play with. Whenever I am in a bad mood or want to take a break, I play on this app.
