Strolling around Hong Kong's malls, it's easy to come to the conclusion that we have become tired of the traditional Christmas tree. Take the IFC, which has taken the Christmas spirit to new depths by installing a huge indoor airship in its atrium. At Times Square, shoppers are plunged into the fantastic world of Taiwanese illustrator Jimmy Liao. An old-style locomotive symbolically transports Christmas blessings and gifts to the shopper's home at Cityplaza, and at wtc more, Japan has pride of place with a tree in the shape of the Tokyo Tower. But never fear - if all this innovation is too much, Festival Walk has the real deal - a sparkling and traditional 20-metre-tall Christmas tree.
