Everybody wants to be famous. But the important thing is not to blindly chase things you can never have.

After Luciano (Aniello Arena) a fishmonger, auditions for the Italian version of reality TV show Big Brother, his life changes dramatically - but not necessarily for the better.

He starts to suspect the people around him are actually spying on him to see whether he is really good enough to get on the show. His performance wasn't actually good enough for him to be selected, and his family know it. Luciano doesn't listen to his family and decides to give his things to the poor to show how desperately he wants to become a celebrity, but his continuing obsession ruins his relationship with his family.

Facing depression, Luciano refuses to give up on the show, as it's all he has left.

The plot twists and turns of Reality, combined with excellent acting, led to the film winning the Grand Prix at last year's Cannes Film Festival.

As you watch, you'll realise that becoming overwhelmed by a dream will eventually lead you to a dead end. Don't make the same mistakes Luciano does.
