While most of the 2024 Olympic events are taking place in Paris, surfing events are being held more than 9,000 miles away from the French capital in Tahiti. Part of French Polynesia, Tahiti boasts some of the world's most beautiful and dangerous waves. The host village of Teahupo’o is located 15,730km (9,770 miles) from Paris, making the venue the furthest-ever from an Olympic host city.
