China’s southern province of Guizhou has rolled out plans to enlarge its motorway network by 8.5 per cent this year to a length of 7,000km (4,350 miles). A budget of more than 119.2 billion yuan (US$17.5 billion) has been allocated for the project.
China already has the world’s biggest motorway network, covering more than 4.7 million km (2.9 million miles).
