Pingliang Arabic School in China’s northwestern province of Gansu has been told by city education officials to close by December 17.
The imminent closure of the 34-year-old Arabic language school, a charity institution, which caters to underprivileged students, has raised the suspicion that draconian security measures adopted in Xinjiang Autonomous Region are applied to other Muslim-populated areas.
