New ID card to give Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan residents access to public services on mainland China

From September 1, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan residents will be able to apply for an identity card that will give them access to mainland services. Those who have been living, working and studying on the mainland for more than six months are eligible and card holders will have access to services like medical care and the social insurance scheme.
