Typhoon Molave swept across Vietnam on October 28, 2020, after it passed through the Philippines. The storm is blamed for dozens of deaths and has left many people missing. The Vietnamese government said Molave was among the most powerful storms to hit the country in 20 years. The nation has been battered by heavy rains and storms since early October, and heavy rainfalls of up to 70cm (28in) are expected to continue in parts of central Vietnam until October 31.
