Recap by phillip woo

Specked late, Win Speed settled in the box seat and found plenty after moving to the lead approaching the 200m for a first win at his seventh start. Legend St Paul's stayed on nicely for second after a prominent run one off the fence. It was an encouraging debut performance and he will be winning races in no time. Corleone ran on well for third after a rail run from midfield. It was a good debut effort. Amazing Run made up heaps of ground late for fourth after turning the final bend one from the rear. He continues to find the line well in his past two after a first-up win this season. Affirm was on his tippy toes 100m out after clearing to the lead from gate 14. California Moxie made some ground late through the middle after biding his time four from the rear along the inside. It was a typical performance. Lucky Touch made some ground late without ever looking a threat. Favourite Forerunner never produced a yelp towards the outside after turning the final bend towards the rear. It was a disappointing effort despite a riding change to Zac Purton.
