Well-backed Flamingo Trillion got the better of Proud Dragon to make it back-to-back wins after chasing the speed wide without cover and claiming the lead about 100m from the line. He has shown versatility after scoring on a wet track last time, and there is likely more improvement in the three-year-old galloper. Proud Dragon ran on nicely along the inside to finish a close second after settling one from the rear. The move to 10-pound claimer Ellis Wong nearly worked the oracle. Natural Gold grudgingly gave way after driving forward deep on the track to lead before the first bend. It was a better effort on his third start following a fetlock injury. Punted late, Prosecco ran on steadily to take fourth after his wide trip better than midfield. He remains a local maiden from 18 starts but it was a positive effort following his stable change. Favourite Lady's Choice made some ground to finish next best after his wide run with cover in midfield. He could not build on back-to-back placings after his riding change to Zac Purton. Speed Fay Fay had every chance following his box-seat run but came up one-paced. He could not add to a win and a runner-up result in his previous two starts.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (716) - TOLO HARBOUR HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

ATOMIC BEAUTY was withdrawn on 3.6.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PROSECCO (M Chadwick).

Before being allowed to race again, ATOMIC BEAUTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

STURDY RUBY and CASA SACRED bumped at the start.

CYBER PATCH jumped only fairly and then was crowded by LADY'S CHOICE which shifted in.

PROUD DRAGON jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the 800 Metres, CASA SACRED, when racing keenly, was steadied away from LADY'S CHOICE.

Near the 800 Metres, LADY'S CHOICE commenced to race keenly and shifted out when awkwardly placed behind FLAMINGO TRILLION and as a result FIRE BALL was taken wider.

FIRE BALL raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.

After the 500 Metres, PROUD DRAGON was held up when endeavouring to improve into a narrow run to the inside of STURDY RUBY.

Then near the 450 Metres, STURDY RUBY became unbalanced after making contact with CASA SACRED when endeavouring to improve into a run between SPEED FAY FAY and CASA SACRED where there was doubtful room.

As a result, STURDY RUBY shifted in and crowded PROUD DRAGON.

Inside the 100 Metres, SPEED FAY FAY was steadied when crowded between JOY COMING which was taken in slightly by FLAMINGO TRILLION and NATURAL GOLD (B Avdulla) which shifted out.

B Avdulla was reprimanded.

After the race, M F Poon (GOLDEN BULL) reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the event.

A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN BULL immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

Also after the race, L Hewitson (ONE HEART ONE) reported that he was asked to position his mount in a midfield position, but from the outside barrier was unable to do so and was obliged to race back in the field.

He added that ONE HEART ONE was not suited by being positioned back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection of ONE HEART ONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Following the race, H Bowman (STURDY RUBY) reported that with the early pace of the event being run inside standard, his mount did not travel well through that section of the race.

He added that whilst held up on the Home Turn, STURDY RUBY finished the race off only fairly and he recommended to connections to step his mount up in distance at its next race start so that it will be aided by being able to travel at a more comfortable tempo in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection of STURDY RUBY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LADY'S CHOICE, FLAMINGO TRILLION and PROUD DRAGON were sent for sampling.
