Grateful Heart snuck up late along the inside to just get the win after a patient ride two from the back. He had been ordinary in his three starts after winning four times last season. Voyage Warrior just came up short after turning the final bend on the leader's back. He hasn't won in ages but has given a good sight in both sprints at the Valley. Firming favourite Nervous Witness found a couple just too good after working hard to find the fence in front 550m out. It was a game run in defeat trying the Valley for the first time. Well-backed Keep You Warm closed well to nearly place after a wide without cover run behind midfield. It was another honest performance. Carroll Street eventually got going to get up for a minor cheque after straightening at the rear of the field. He's more effective at Sha Tin. Handsome Bo Bo was gassed 100m out after a one-out, one-back run. He might be on or near his mark after starting the campaign with back-to-back seconds from his first three starts this term. We The South was a non-factor making his run in midfield after jumping a shade slow. He must lead.

WE THE SOUTH shifted out at the start and bumped SPARKLING DRAGON which began awkwardly.

HONG KONG WIN shifted out on jumping and bumped HIGHLY PROACTIVE.

EXPLOSIVE WITNESS and HONG KONG WIN were steadied from wide barriers to obtain cover.

Passing the 900 Metres, CLASSIC UNICORN and KEEP YOU WARM brushed.

Passing the 600 Metres, HIGHLY PROACTIVE and HONG KONG WIN bumped.

After this, HIGHLY PROACTIVE was left racing wide and without cover.

After the 600 Metres, KEEP YOU WARM was left racing wide and without cover.

CARROLL STREET made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly and shifted out towards the heels of GRATEFUL HEART, resulting in CARROLL STREET losing ground.

Approaching the 150 Metres, K Teetan (NERVOUS WITNESS) dropped his whip.

As this was the 4th occasion that K Teetan had dropped his whip in a race this season, he was fined the sum of $5,000.

Passing the 150 Metres, CLASSIC UNICORN shifted in towards the hindquarters of VOYAGE WARRIOR, resulting in K C Leung, the rider of CLASSIC UNICORN, having to correct his mount.

NERVOUS WITNESS, GRATEFUL HEART and VOYAGE WARRIOR were sent for sampling.
