Favourite Premiere established a two-length margin rounding the final bend after leading from gate six and kept on gamely to continue his impressive form over the 1,000m form at both tracks. He's strengthened mentally and physically this season and should remain one to follow over the minimum distance. Born In China stayed on well following a prominent run for second in his first run since March. He's a sprint specialist over this course but is certainly better over the 1,200m. Mr Genuine closed off well travelling one off worse than midfield to finish a clear-cut third. He's has hit the line well in each of his three outings this term but keeps finding one or a few too good at this level. Archippus made his usual bid late from the back to take fourth. He's as honest as the day is long sprinting on both surfaces and courses but the big weight is always going to anchor him. Country Melody stayed on all right after a handy run without cover.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (107) - THE KWOON CHUNG BUS CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1000Meters

When in the holding stables, BORN IN CHINA was found to have sustained a wound to the outside of the right hock.

BORN IN CHINA was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

PREMIERE and BORN IN CHINA bumped at the start.

From the outside barrier, ARCHIPPUS was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Rounding the Home Turn, HIGH FIVE was checked away from the heels of ADVENTURER.

BULLISH SMART, which was following, was hampered in consequence.

Passing the 100 Metres, FLYING TOURBILLON was shifted in away from the heels of HIGH FIVE.

Throughout the race, COUNTRY MELODY travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, T Berry (SEA JADE) stated that his mount became unbalanced in its action over the concluding stages.

A veterinary inspection of SEA JADE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of ADVENTURER immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, ADVENTURER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

PREMIERE and BORN IN CHINA were sent for sampling.
