- Texas law says its is illegal for anyone to serve alcohol to a ‘habitual drunkard or an intoxicated or insane person’
- Police claim Glass kept serving the man drinks even while he was spinning a large knife on the top of the bar

A misdemeanour charge has been filed against a female bartender who served alcohol to a man whose subsequent bloody rampage at a house party in Plano in 2017 claimed eight lives before he was killed by a police officer.
Lindsey Glass, 27, is accused of violating the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code’s restrictions on “sale to certain persons”, a misdemeanour charge carrying a punishment of up to a year in jail and a fine of up to US$500, KXAS-TV reported.
According to the code, “a person commits an offence if the person with criminal negligence sells an alcoholic beverage to an habitual drunkard or an intoxicated or insane person”.
Glass, who worked at Local Public House in Plano, was arrested on Tuesday, the news station said.
The incident took place on September 10, 2017, when Spencer Hight opened fire at the home of his estranged wife, Meredith Hight, killing her and seven others before he was fatally shot by the police officer.

Before the attack, Spencer Hight had been drinking at Local Public House.
