Despite Covid-19 dining restrictions remaining in place Hong Kong’s eating out scene recently welcomed Jam – a new multi-venue Asian food hall concept at Central’s Nexxus Building – on top of six more new openings including Pazta at Tai Kwun, KollaBo in Quarry Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui’s Da Filippo Trattoria

As we switch out our old calendars to welcome 2021, nothing has stopped the momentum of new restaurant openings in Hong Kong. Four concepts make their debut at ZS Hospitality’s new food hall concept in the Nexxus Building in Central, while three new Italian restaurants opened in Tai Kwun, Harbour City and the recently launched The Hari hotel as well.

Meanwhile, KollaBo and Cotton Lane Café add something new to the city’s dining scene by incorporating Japanese ingredients in Korean and cafe cuisine respectively.

There are many special seasonal menus to help revellers step out of the holiday season on the right foot, too. Vegetarian and vegan burger concept Leaves & Liberty will take over Beef & Liberty’s premises in Lan Kwai Fong’s California Tower throughout January. And for those seeking one of Hong Kong’s most popular winter comfort foods, claypot rice, Chop Chop is delivering it right to your door to enjoy despite dining restrictions.

Jam, an acronym for joint Asian market, is ZS Hospitality’s exciting new foray into the food hall concept. Situated at the lobby of Central’s Nexxus Building, Jam combines four Asian restaurants that offer dine-in or take away. In the line-up is Mamalee Market, a Korean homestyle deli by chef Song Ha-seul-lam; SiFu, a modern dim sum establishment by chef Cheung Kin-Ming; Uncle Quek that serves Singaporean favourites by chef Barry Quek; and Moi Moi, the group’s authentic Vietnamese outlet by chef Dinh Dinh-tuan. One thing’s for sure – you’ll need more than one visit to try everything.

On the menu is delicious Italian fare such as golden-fried stuffed zucchini flowers as well as numerous pastas, mains and desserts to choose from.
