  • Following in the footsteps of Bae Suzy, IU and Yoona, Jisoo takes her first lead role alongside D.P. star Jung Hae-in in Snowdrop

Many K-pop singers have made forays into acting and successfully turned themselves into triple threats. Bae Suzy, Yoona and IU are just three who spring to mind. And in the next few months, five more K-pop idols are set to make highly anticipated acting debuts.

So who are they and what will they be starring in?

Blackpink’s Jisoo will no doubt set the internet on fire this winter when she debuts in the K-drama Snowdrop, scheduled for release on December 18. She tackles the role of Eun Young-cho alongside Netflix’s D.P. star Jung Hae-in who plays graduate student Im Soo-ho. The two university students meet and fall in love in South Korea in 1987. The drama is set against the backdrop of the country’s Democratic Movement, according to HITC.

This is the first time the singer has played a lead role, only previously popping up in cameos for The Producers in 2015 and Arthdal Chronicles in 2019.
