Celtic Times ran on nicely with two wider out to just defeat Joy Of Spring after a wide trip travelling fourth from the rear. It was an overdue win after placing in half his first 10 starts this term. Joy Of Spring ran on nicely to finish a close second after being short of a clear run near the inside until the 200m from behind midfield at the top of the straight. He is a winner waiting to happen. Smart Fighter found a couple too smart after hitting the front 200m out following a one-out, one-back run. It was another honest performance. Ping Hai Comet kept on fourth best after a box-seat run. It was a vastly improved effort at this third start. Favourite Flying Mojito produced a grinding effort after a one-off trip from midfield. He had no excuse. Laugh Tale worked home well to finish next best after a wide trip towards the rear from gate 13. He isn't far off a winning run. Soaring Bronco wasn't beaten far in the end after a wide without cover trip from midfield. He is still a three-yearold but has shown flashes of ability in three starts. Californiatotality was restless in the stalls and withdrawn by order of the stewards on veterinary advice.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (604) - HEALTHY COMMUNITY 1600M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 LAUGH TALE (G406) H Bowman Near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied away from BEER PALACE.

When questioned, H Bowman stated that his intention from the outside barrier was to go forward and lead the event if possible.

He said his mount jumped only fairly, however, did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a forward position although he did not pressure his mount to do so.

He added that with the pace of the event being run quicker than its most recent start, LAUGH TALE settled further back in the field.

Horse No 3 MARADO (E245) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was crowded.

Passing the 1400 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by CELTIC TIMES which shifted in and then was corrected by its rider K Teetan.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 BEER PALACE (H361) L Ferraris Noted to have blood at its left nostril due to a small abrasion at the Start.

Examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

After the race, an endoscopic examination confirmed that the blood was present due to a small abrasion at its left nostril.

Jumped only fairly and was crowded shortly after the start.

Horse No 5 FLYING MOJITO (G412) Z Purton Briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 SOARING BRONCO (J162) H Bentley Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 8 PING HAI COMET (H344) A Badel Approaching the finish raced tight to the inside of JOY OF SPRING and as a result could not be fully ridden out.

Horse No 10 CELTIC TIMES (G230) K Teetan Bumped at the start.

Leaving the 1400 Metres shifted in before being corrected by its rider and then shifted out when awkwardly placed behind BEER PALACE.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 JOY OF SPRING (H383) C Y Ho Bumped at the start.

For some distance near the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 14 FOREVER FOLKS (G463) B Thompson Taken wider near the 800 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 CALIFORNIATOTALITY (H418) B Avdulla Became fractious in the barriers after being loaded and kicked out behind, resulting in both hind legs being cast on the barrier partition.

Removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, CALIFORNIATOTALITY was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIATOTALITY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Noted to have sustained a small wound below the left stifle after the race.
