M Unicorn came with a barnstorming run from the rear down the outside to win a thriller. It was his fifth win this term at his first outing on the surface. He's got the tools to head higher. Following a run on the rail in midfield, Turin Mascot lost out in a ding-doing finish after hitting the front 100m out. He had been racing well on turf and this run gives him options going forward. Adefill ran on nicely to make it close on the wire after biding his time in fifth last from an awkward gate. He's very honest on this surface. Berlin Tango finished well for fourth after settling one off the fence behind midfield. He has been racing better of late on either surface. Apache Pass found a few too smart after appearing a winning chance 100m out. He's just not the same horse this season. Punted late, Yellowfin grudgingly gave way after working hard to lead from gate 10. So We Joy ran on without threatening after travelling on the rail behind midfield. He appears to be on his mark following a win. Massive Action was a non-factor after finding a couple too swift for the lead. He's at his best when left alone in front.

Race Eight : (558) - RAMBLER CHANNEL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 NORDIC DRAGON (G467) E C W Wong From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

In the middle stages raced keenly.

After improving to the inside of ADEFILL (H Bowman) in the middle stages, NORDIC DRAGON was then steadied at the 700 Metres when crowded by ADEFILL which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.

H Bowman was reprimanded.

When questioned regarding his riding on the Home Turn, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that after following BERLIN TANGO, when that runner shifted out approaching the 400 Metres, he elected to improve to the inside of BERLIN TANGO.

He added that after being able to ride his mount along in the early part of the Home Straight, near the 200 Metres he became held up behind MASSIVE ACTION and was then shifted to that runner's outside to improve where it obtained clear running approaching the 150 Metres.

He further stated that again near the 100 Metres he was obliged to shift to the outside of TOURBILLON PRINCE to continue into clear running.

Horse No 2 ALACRITY (H210) A Hamelin From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 APACHE PASS (D433) Z Purton Over the concluding stages raced in restricted room between ADEFILL and TURIN MASCOT which shifted out.

Horse No 4 ADEFILL (G317) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 TURIN MASCOT (H165) K Teetan On jumping was badly crowded between MAJESTIC COLOUR and MASSIVE ACTION, both of which shifted ground, resulting in TURIN MASCOT becoming unbalanced.

Horse No 8 SO WE JOY (D082) K C Leung Over the concluding stages had some difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned close to APACHE PASS.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

Horse No 10 MAJESTIC COLOUR (H124) L Ferraris Bumped at the start.

Horse No 11 FIERY DIAMOND (G022) K De Melo After the race, K De Melo expressed concern with his mount's action.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, FIERY DIAMOND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 12 M UNICORN (G466) M L Yeung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 13 MASSIVE ACTION (E445) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.
