Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (530) - DESIGNS ON ROME HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 THE BEST PEACH (H139) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 C P BRAVE (E306) J McDonald Raced keenly leaving the 1000 Metres and near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid BEAUTY LIVE.
Near the 450 Metres was held up on the heels of MAJESTIC VICTORY and then was shifted to that runner's outside to improve into clear running and as a result made contact with PACKING HURRICANE.
Noted to have sustained a small abrasion to the right front pastern.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 NATURAL STORM (C461) A Hamelin At the 450 Metres was shifted to the inside of BRAVEHEARTS to obtain clear running.
Approaching the 350 Metres became held up behind COLUMBUS COUNTY and did not obtain clear running until the 250 Metres.
Inside the 50 Metres was again held up when racing tight to the inside of SWEET ENCOUNTER and as a result could not be fully ridden out to the finish of the event.
Horse No 4 SWEET ENCOUNTER (G426) Z Purton Bumped shortly after the start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 PACKING HURRICANE (H137) H Bentley Bumped at the 450 Metres.
When questioned regarding his mount settling further back today, H Bentley stated that he had anticipated taking up a handy position on PACKING HURRICANE.
He added after racing tight to the inside of HOLY LAKE in the early stages, he was unable to cross to the rail when BRAVEHEARTS and NICHOLSON RETURNS held their position to his inside.
He further stated that when caught in a three wide position, he was then able to obtain a trail behind SWEET ENCOUNTER.
He said due to being unable to cross to the rail in the early stages, he was obliged to race further back.
Horse No 8 BRAVEHEARTS (H389) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 10 MAJESTIC VICTORY (E441) L Hewitson Near the 450 Metres was eased when crowded between SWEET ENCOUNTER and ENIGMA which lay out on the turn.
Near the 350 Metres was inconvenienced when racing tight between ENIGMA and C P BRAVE.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The Best Peach showed a good turn of foot to get up near the 100m for the win after a wide with cover trip two from the rear. He deserved that win after placing third in five of nine other starts this term. C P Brave ran on nicely for second after biding his time four from the rear. It was another honest performance over the Sha Tin 1,800m this season. Holy Lake stayed on third best after a prominent run on the fence. He's having a good campaign. Well-backed Frantanck worked hard to lead from a wide draw but still stuck on well for fourth after setting brisk fractions. Nicholson Returns made headway late down the outside for fifth without threatening the top four. He's on his mark but rarely produces a bad run over the Sha Tin 1.800m. Packing Hurricane was doing some work late near the outside after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He couldn't lift carrying more weight following a win. Favourite Sweet Encounter was a non-factor after a wide without cover trip for a majority of the race travelling midfield from gate 12.
