Race Eight : (501) - PENG CHAU HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 BERLIN TANGO (E120) Z Purton Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.
Horse No 2 MOMENTS IN TIME (H474) E C W Wong Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 PRIME MINISTER (D288) M F Poon From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 TURIN MASCOT (H165) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to settle back in the field and with the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time, TURIN MASCOT was disadvantaged by settling in this position.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 TRUE GENIUS (J073) B Avdulla After the race, B Avdulla stated that with his mount stepping up in distance he was asked to take up a forward position on TRUE GENIUS as TRUE GENIUS races in a one-paced manner.
Trainer A S Cruz confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 6 LOOKING GREAT (E053) M Chadwick Near the 600 Metres lay in and made contact with the running rail.
Near the 200 Metres was inconvenienced when taken out by TRUE GENIUS which shifted out.
Horse No 7 M UNICORN (G466) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
In the early stages raced keenly and leaving the 1500 Metres was steadied away from LOOKING GREAT.
After the race, L Ferraris reported that although obliged to race wide and without cover between the 1200 Metres and the 800 Metres, once he obtained cover behind KIMBERLEY in the middle stages, his mount travelled satisfactorily but he could offer no explanation for M UNICORN not finishing the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 MAJESTIC VICTORY (E441) Y L Chung Brushed the running rail near the 600 Metres.

Horse No 9 INTREPID WINNER (G144) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 10 ESCAPE ROUTE (E273) H Bentley Approaching the 1300 Metres was momentarily crowded by GALLANT HERO which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Horse No 11 KIMBERLEY (H329) A Hamelin Near the 650 Metres was taken out by MOMENTS IN TIME and then raced wide and without cover thereafter.
After the 200 Metres was bumped by MAJESTIC VICTORY.
Horse No 12 GALLANT HERO (E480) A Badel Approaching the winning post shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of BERLIN TANGO.

After tracking the speed, the well-backed Moments In Time hit the front 300m out and drew clear for a first win at his sixth local start. He appreciated the claimer's allowance. Majestic Victory kept on second best without threatening the winner after sitting on the back of the eventual winner. He can produce a good run now. Intrepid Winner ran on nicely for third after making his run third last following a tardy start. He's enjoying a productive campaign. Kimberley kept on well for fourth after a prominent run wide without cover. It was a decent effort with a return to Class Three following a win. Berlin Tango ran on steadily near the inside to just miss the frame from behind midfield. He doesn't appear to be far off a bottom from his past two starts. Gallant Hero ran on steadily to finish next best after settling behind midfield. He'll be hard to ignore if he opts to step out in Class Four next time out. Escape Route got going late near the outside without threatening after a patient ride three from the rear. Favourite M Unicorn never figured after getting caught wide without cover in midfield for half the race.
