Recap by phillip woo

Punted late Devas Twelve ran on nicely to take control 150m out after making his run five back and one off the fence from gate 13 for a first win at his sixth start. He lived up to a near win last start with a step up to the 1,600m. Beer Palace ran on nicely for second after a rails run from behind midfield but was no match for the winner. He's building towards a win following three progressive efforts in Class Four. Celtic Times ran on steadily for third without threatening the top two following a one-off trip from midfield. He's honest but has trouble winning. Favourite Californiatotality got going late for fourth after biding his time four from the rear. It was a typical performance. Laugh Tale made headway late near the inside after a patient ride one from the rear. He's run well in both starts this term after bleeding on debut in April. Chilli Baba knocked up 100m out after a pace-stalking run from gate 11. Chateau La Peche was doing some nice work late along the inside after a patient ride two from the rear. It was an improved effort.
