Horse No 2 THE BEST PEACH (H139) H Bowman A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 BUTTERFIELD (C462) Z Purton On straightening was held up for a short distance before shifting out from behind ENSUED to obtain clear running and then had a tendency to lay in in the Home Straight.
Horse No 4 C P BRAVE (E306) J McDonald Lay in under pressure over the final 300 Metres.
Horse No 5 ENSUED (H452) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 COLUMBUS COUNTY (C465) H Bentley Raced wide and without cover until near the 1200 Metres.
After the race, H Bentley explained that his instructions were to take up a forward position and was obliged to continue to go forward when caught wide in the early stages.
Horse No 7 ELLIPTICAL (J052) C Y Ho A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a cut to its right hind leg.

Outsider Natural Storm got the gaps when required to just get the better of favourite Ensued 50m out after a rails run from behind midfield. He had been knocking on the door with placings twice at the Valley. Ensued found one just better on the day after a prominent run one off the fence. He continues to race very well. Well-backed C P Brave finished level for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He ran well despite a rise in class after consecutive wins over the 1,800m. Punted late Woodfire Bro had to settle for a slice of third after poking his head in front 150m out following a box-seat run. He's very honest. Butterfield stayed on well after a rails run from better than midfield. It was another positive effort. Bourbonaire gradually faded after dictating the run from gate eight. He requires a wet track. Specked late Ka Ying Generation ran on without threatening after biding his time three from the rear. He's still acclimatising but has shown hints of ability. The Best Peach got going late through the middle to finish next best after getting strung up in traffic early straight ridden cold at the rear from gate 13.
