Race Six : (284) - TIN SAU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 JUDY'S GREAT (J016) J McDonald M L Yeung (COMPASSION SUPER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the turn near the 700 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of JUDY'S GREAT, resulting in JUDY'S GREAT being unnecessarily crowded for room and having to be checked.
M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Monday, 1 January 2024 at Sha Tin.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade
2.
Horse No 2 MAN STAR (D429) K C Leung Near the 300 Metres was shifted out abruptly to obtain clear running.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 SHINING FORTUNE (G252) A Atzeni A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 RAINBOW DELIGHT (J009) A Hamelin A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, RAINBOW DELIGHT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Over-raced in the early stages and hung out negotiating the turn near the 700 Metres.

Horse No 9 COOL BLUE (H011) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of COOL BLUE was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, COOL BLUE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Well-backed Diamond Flare kept up a strong gallop after slipping three lengths clear 200m out after dictating the run from gate two for a second win and first in Class Four and on dirt from his past three starts. He's improved for the Mark Newnham stable this season. Speedy Smartie ran on well for second after a box seat run. He was able to build on a fifth on his initial dirt effort earlier this month. Aca Power closed nicely for third after a patient ride two from the rear. It was another good effort after winning two runs ago. Favourite Lean Master gradually faded after chasing the eventual winner one off the fence. He's improved in his past three starts on this surface but is limited. Judy's Great ran on steadily after wide trip from midfield to earn a minor cheque. It wasn't a bad run carrying more weight following a win. Strive For Glory made headway late travelling fourth last after a slow start. He's a Class Five horse. Cool Blue whacked on one paced after a rails run from midfield. He ran below par. Compassion Super was struggling upon straightening after a torrid trip from better than midfield.
