Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late, Diamond Flare led from gate three, rounded the final bend three lengths clear and just held to post his first Hong Kong win on his 12th local start. Hercules finished strongly for second after his rail run forward of midfield. He is a winner waiting to happen based on his past two starts down in Class Five. Easy Two ran on nicely with two wider out to make it close on the wire after entering the home straight three from the rear. It was the best of his 11 starts and followed his gear change to visors. Modest Gentleman stayed on OK without threatening the top three following his rail run behind midfield. He should get away with a race in this grade soon. Crystal Powerful ran on steadily after travelling one off the fence in midfield. He went a shade better following his gear change. Favourite Valhalla came up one paced after his prominent run. He was not good enough to handle carrying 133 pounds following his last-start win. H Z Tourbillon made headway late but got too far back after his tardy start. He is his own worst enemy. Goodmanship had an excuse after racing four wide without cover.
