Lucky With You just held off Flying Ace after hitting the lead near the 100m after a wide with cover run better than midfield to ring up a sixth career win from 21 starts. Flying Ace made it close on the wire after having to come across heels for a clear run 150m out travelling behind midfield on the fence from gate 13. He should have won. Bundle Of Charm stayed on well to finish a close third after a prominent run on the fence. He was fitter for an unplaced run last month but does rarely produce a bad run over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Post-time favourite Dream Winner kept on reasonably well for fourth after chasing the speed three-wide without cover from gate 12. It was a pleasing effort trying 1,200m for the first time. Reward Smile was stopping 50m out after going to the front upon straightening following a pace-prompting run from gate nine. It wasn't a bad run in Class Two for the first time. Beauty Charge made only a mild bid after switching off heels for clear run 300m out from midfield.

Horse No 4 FLYING ACE (G045) Z Purton From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the race, Z Purton stated that after entering the Home Straight and being held up, he then commenced to shift out to secure clear running near the 350 Metres.

He said near the 300 Metres he contemplated improving into a tight run between DREAM WINNER and LUCKY WITH YOU, however, when he was concerned those runners may shift ground, he elected to continue to shift to the outside of LUCKY WITH YOU to secure clear running as there was a full run available.

He added after committing to this run, LUCKY WITH YOU then shifted out which resulted in FLYING ACE having further difficulty in obtaining clear running between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres.

The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Purton were reasonable in the circumstances.
