Recap by phillip woo

Gang Of Brothers got all the favours in the box seat and mowed down Splendid Living for his second win from 18 starts. He had stayed on well to finish fourth on his return to Happy Valley's 1,650m last time out. Splendid Living grudgingly gave way after leading from gate 11 and turning the final bend two lengths on top. It was another fine effort carrying 10 pounds more than his last-start victory. Blissful Star ran on steadily to finish a close third after his handy run on the fence. He did not mind his return to Happy Valley after his 1,400m win two runs ago. Tycoon Jewellery ran on reasonably well to fill a quartet spot. It was the best of his six starts this term after John Size opted to keep him in Class Four with a light weight on his back. Noble Steed came from near last and down the outside to earn a minor cheque. Killer Instinct made some ground without menacing following his run one off the rail behind midfield. He is not easy to get right. Firming favourite Let's Do It found nothing after Zac Purton asked him for his effort 400m out following his prominent run. His Happy Valley debut did not pan out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (496) - GREEN ISLAND HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

On arrival at Happy Valley, COMMANDING MISSILE was noted to have sustained a small abrasion to the right hock.

COMMANDING MISSILE was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

COMMANDING MISSILE, which was fractious in the barriers, jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

LET'S DO IT and TYCOON JEWELLERY bumped at the start.

On jumping, YEABOI was positioned tight to the inside of CLASSIC ARCHI which shifted in.

YEABOI was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From a wide barrier, AMAZING BOY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From the outside barrier, NOBLE STEED was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After travelling a short distance, LET'S DO IT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GANG OF BROTHERS which shifted out.

Near the 1400 Metres, BLISSFUL STAR was inclined to lay out when racing tight to the inside of GANG OF BROTHERS.

TYCOON JEWELLERY raced keenly in the middle stages.

Near the 300 Metres, AMAZING BOY shifted to the outside of KILLER INSTINCT in an attempt to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with NOBLE STEED.

Passing the 150 Metres, SPLENDID LIVING shifted in, made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced.

When giving ground near the 100 Metres, LET'S DO IT was steadied when positioned close to TYCOON JEWELLERY which shifted out.

A veterinary inspection of LET'S DO IT immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of AMAZING BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LET'S DO IT, GANG OF BROTHERS and SPLENDID LIVING were sent for sampling.
