Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (257) - LUKFOOK JEWELLERY DEAR Q HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
STRADALE was withdrawn on 17.12.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DRAGON DELIGHT (L Currie).
Before being allowed to race again, STRADALE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
NOT USUAL STAR shifted out at the start and inconvenienced BEAUTY TURN.
STOICISM shifted in on jumping and bumped CAPE BRETON.
DREAM PURSUER and PARTY WARRIOR bumped on jumping.
From the outside barriers, CAPITAL LEGEND and LIKE THAT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1100 Metres, PARTY WARRIOR shifted in and bumped DREAM PURSUER, causing PARTY WARRIOR to become unbalanced.
Making the turn near the 900 Metres, LIKE THAT was steadied away from the heels of PARTY WARRIOR which became unbalanced when very awkwardly placed outside the heels of DREAM PURSUER.
Near the 800 Metres, BEAUTY CHARGE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PULSAR STRIDER when being steadied to obtain cover behind that horse which throughout the race travelled wide and without cover.
BEAUTY CHARGE raced close to the heels of DREAM PURSUER after the 600 Metres.
LIKE THAT was held up for clear running from on straightening until passing the 300 Metres and then again had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200 Metres and approaching the 100 Metres was directed to the outside of DREAM PURSUER to obtain clear running.
DRAGON DELIGHT had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching and passing the 300 Metres.
CAPE BRETON had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 300 Metres and approaching the 200 Metres became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by NOT USUAL STAR.
NOT USUAL STAR and CAPE BRETON then raced tight passing the 200 Metres and again close to the finishing line.
Approaching the 200 Metres, PULSAR STRIDER was accidentally struck across the nose by the whip of H Bowman (BUNDLE OF CHARM).
A veterinary inspection of CAPE BRETON and PULSAR STRIDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BUNDLE OF CHARM, CAPITAL LEGEND and BEAUTY CHARGE were sent for sampling.

Capital Legend came from near last and widest out at the head of the straight to collar Beauty Charge on the wire for a smart debut win in Hong Kong. He has a nice future ahead of him. Beauty Charge was pipped on the wire after poking his head in front close to home after a wide trip forward of midfield from a tricky gate. He relished a step back to 1,200m and will be winning shortly. Favourite Bundle Of Charm grudgingly gave way after assuming the front 500m out chasing the speed along the fence. It was a better run with a return to Sha Tin but he has been costly without winning in five outings this term. Dream Pursuer ran on well to finish a close fourth after a wide with cover trip from midfield. It was an encouraging debut effort. Dragon Delight make good ground late near the inside after a patient ride third last. It was a much better performance at his fourth local run. Pulsar Strider came up one-paced last 100m out after chasing the speed wide without cover from a tricky gate. He had an excuse.
