Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Amazing Boy took control 150m out after getting a lovely run in the box seat for a maiden win at his 19th start. He deserved the win after placing in five of 11 earlier starts this term. Victorious Seeker ran on steadily near the inside to grab second 50m out after a rails run in midfield. He had been out of form after a 2,000m win in November but relished the drop into Class Five. Sky Gem fought on reasonably well for third after taking off from behind midfield 950m out to lead 600m out. He rarely produces a bad run in Class Five over this trip. Fortune Triple ran on steadily to fill the frame after a one-off trip fore of midfield. He's pretty honest over this trip. Wealthy Employee came from last to just miss the frame. He was able to pick up some prize money in his final career start. Circuit Elite made some ground after a one-off trip worse than midfield. He didn't quite get the trip. Punted late, Turf Brilliant ran on without menacing from near last. He's better suited at Sha Tin. Go Ballistic had an excuse after working hard to track the speed from a wide draw. Diamond Star didn't get the trip after making his run behind midfield on the fence.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (818) - VENTRIS HANDICAP - Class 5 - 2200Meters

JOLLY FOREVER was withdrawn on 12.7.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left hind hoof injury) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TURF BRILLIANT (M Chadwick).

Before being allowed to race again, JOLLY FOREVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

VICTORIOUS SEEKER shifted out on jumping and bumped DIAMOND STAR.

GREAT TIMES began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of WEALTHY EMPLOYEE which became unbalanced.

After this, GREAT TIMES was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

TURF BRILLIANT was steadied in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail.

Near the 2000 Metres, DIAMOND STAR was steadied away from the heels of VICTORIOUS SEEKER and in doing so shifted out and brushed SKY GEM.

GO BALLISTIC travelled wide and without cover until approaching the winning post on the first occasion.

In the early part of the Straight, CIRCUIT ELITE lay in under pressure.

For some distance from passing the 200 Metres until passing the 50 Metres, CIRCUIT ELITE and TURF BRILLIANT raced tight and brushed on a number of occasions.

A veterinary inspection of TURF BRILLIANT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

AMAZING BOY and VICTORIOUS SEEKER were sent for sampling.
