Recap by phillip woo

Punted late to start favourite Enjoying had just enough in the tank for a wire-to-wire win after getting his own way in front at slow fractions. It was an overdue win at his 20th start but had been knocking on the door. Butterfield came on strongly from last at the top of the straight in a slowly run race to edge Charity Go for second. It was a solid performance down in grade carrying top weight. Charity Go came on well along the inside to just miss second after straightening one from the rear. He's racing consistently well. Berlin Tango loomed a winning chance at the 200m after chasing the speed one off the fence but had no more to offer 50m out. He has been costly and might require a drop into Class Three to score an elusive win. Looking Great found nothing when push came to shove after settling box-seat. It was a surprisingly flat effort after a last-start win over the 2,000m. Early favourite California Ten never landed a blow travelling a distant fourth along the fence. He wasn't suited by the race tempo after a nice win last start over the 1,600m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (473) - DENDROBIUM HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1800Meters

LOOKING GREAT began awkwardly.

BUTTERFIELD and CHARITY GO were steadied to obtain cover in the early stages.

Approaching the 1300 Metres, BERLIN TANGO shifted in away from the heels of ENJOYING and brushed LOOKING GREAT.

Approaching the 1100 Metres BERLIN TANGO momentarily raced in restricted room inside ENJOYING.

Passing the 1100 Metres, CHARITY GO raced tight inside the heels of CALIFORNIA TEN which lay in away from the heels of BERLIN TANGO.

ENJOYING made the Home Turn awkwardly.

After the race, K Teetan was not able to offer any explanation for the performance of CALIFORNIA TEN.

He said the horse travelled satisfactorily in the middle stages, however, after coming under pressure passing the 600 Metres was then disappointing in the manner in which it did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight albeit the horse was not beaten by a large margin at the end of the race.

A veterinary inspection of CALIFORNIA TEN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ENJOYING and BUTTERFIELD were sent for sampling.
