Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (286) - THE HONG KONG ELITE ATHLETES CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1400Meters
FABULOUSIO was slow to begin.
HEZA BEAUTY shifted in at the start and bumped SUPER OASIS.
BE READY was bumped on jumping by NOTHING NEW which was taken in by DUBLIN STAR.
SOLID IMPACT and LEWIS bumped at the start.
From the outside barrier, PRIME MINISTER was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After travelling a short distance, SMILING TIME raced tight inside MR CROISSANT.
Passing the 800 Metres, SMILING TIME was awkwardly placed behind MR CROISSANT.
Rounding the Home Turn, SMILING TIME was again awkwardly placed behind MR CROISSANT which itself was awkwardly placed outside BEAUTY CHAMP which shifted to the outside of MERCURIAL.
After this, MR CROISSANT gave ground and finished tailed out.
A veterinary inspection of MR CROISSANT immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Passing the 400 Metres, DUBLIN STAR raced in restricted room between PRIME MINISTER and SUPER OASIS which shifted out.
Throughout the race, LEWIS travelled wide and without cover.
On return to the stable, LEWIS was noted to have blood at both nostrils.
A subsequent endoscopic examination of LEWIS confirmed the horse to have bled.
A veterinary inspection of SMILING TIME and MERCURIAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BEAUTY CHAMP, PRIME MINISTER and NOTHING NEW were sent for sampling.

Well-backed Prime Minister came with a bold move down the outside from a detached spot to get up 50m out for a first win at his 11th start. He had made a good impression in his opening two runs this term and can score again. Nothing New just found one too good after a wide with cover run behind midfield. He rarely produces a bad run but has trouble winning. Solid Impact went for home on top 360m out but found a couple too good in the end after a pace-stalking run. It was his best run from four starts following a rise in trip. Favourite Beauty Champ just held his ground after a box-seat run. It was a pleasing debut effort but he'll need a bit more time to settle in. Nearly Fine ran home OK near the inside after a rails run in midfield. It was a better Class Three effort. Dublin Star ran on without menacing after biding his time one from the rear. He's till trying to find a bottom. Super Oasis was short of room at times when trying to make ground near the outside after a patient ride towards the rear. Mercurial didn't have much left in the tank 150m out after getting his own way in front from a wide draw. It was a disappointing effort with a return to the course-and-distance of a win last season.
