Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Daily Beauty responded well when angling into the open 150m out following a rail run better than midfield to overhaul Hero Star in deep stretch for back-to-back wins. He's racing very well this season and might remain competitive up in grade off a light weight. Plunged late, Hero Star led from a tricky gate and wouldn't go down without a fight. It was an improved effort carrying a light weight in a rare Valley appearance. Punted late, Winning Feeling just failed to get up for second following a box-seat run. He relished a return to Class Four but the big weight didn't help. Smart Hunter ran on well from towards the rear to fill the frame. He's shown progress in his past two of five starts. Won Ball came from last to pick up some prize money. It was a typical effort. Mudita made some ground late without menacing after settling fourth last. He has ability but is still a work in progress. Courageous Dragon kept on evenly after a wide without cover trip in midfield. He had an excuse. Colonel tamely faded near the 100m after stalking the leader in the run from a wide gate. He's likely on his mark.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (457) - WANG TAK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

SMART HUNTER lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected, began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped CARRY THE DIAMOND.

SMART HUNTER and CARRY THE DIAMOND then raced tight for a short distance.

MISTER ARM shifted out at the start and bumped RED IMPACT.

RED IMPACT was then steadied to obtain cover in the early stages.

WON BALL shifted out at the start and bumped HAPPY PROFIT.

WON BALL was then crowded for room between HAPPY PROFIT which became unbalanced after being bumped by WON BALL and COLONEL which shifted out.

After this, from a wide barrier, WON BALL was steadied to obtain cover.

Approaching the 100 Metres, HAPPY PROFIT, which was giving ground, was bumped by MISTER ARM which was taken out by SMART HUNTER.

After the 100 Metres, RED IMPACT was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of COURAGEOUS DRAGON.

Close to the finishing line, WON BALL was awkwardly placed behind HERO STAR and consequently was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

After the race, Z Purton stated that he had to do too much work on HAPPY PROFIT in the early and middle stages to cross runners to his inside to obtain a position with cover near the 600 Metres.

He said because of the amount of use he had to make of HAPPY PROFIT, the horse was then not able to finish off its race.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY PROFIT immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

After the race, it was reported that WINNING FEELING had bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of CARRY THE DIAMOND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

DAILY BEAUTY and HERO STAR were sent for sampling.
