Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (508) - BEGONIA HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
JOYFUL UNION and FORTUNE BOOTH were slow to begin.
From wide barriers, ENCORE BOY and SUNSET WATCH were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After being disappointed for running between ENCORE BOY and WALDORF soon after straightening, JOYFUL UNION was shifted to the outside of ENCORE BOY approaching the 200 Metres to improve.
After leaving the 200 Metres, ENCORE BOY and WALDORF raced tight and near the 150 Metres ENCORE BOY was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPARKLING DRAGON when shifting to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, MR LUMIERES travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, C Y Ho stated that INVINCIBLE MISSILE did not travel well in the early stages and became somewhat detached from the field in the early part of the Back Straight.
He said he was required to ride the horse quite hard to make up lost ground, however, INVINCIBLE MISSILE did not initially respond and was not able to keep pace with the field.
He said after being brought to the outside in the Straight and placed under full pressure, INVINCIBLE MISSILE finished off only fairly and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection of INVINCIBLE MISSILE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
AMAZING STAR and WALDORF were sent for sampling.

Omission from Racing Incidents Report of 14 March 2020 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 5 (495) Approaching the 100 Metres, the whip of K C Leung (GALA NIGHT) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of J Moreira (FOODIE PRINCESS).

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 14 March 2020 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of RED BRICK FIGHTER, MULTIMAX, THE ABRAXAS, BELUGA, COLONEL, ZERO HEDGE, GOOD VIEW CLARICO, HERE COMES TED, JUNEAU PARK, KA YING EXCELLENT, GALA NIGHT, FOODIE PRINCESS, EVERYONE'S JOY, SMOOTHIES, HIGH RISE SOLDIER, RAGING BLITZKRIEG, MONGOLIAN KING, SIMPLY BRILLIANT, HARMONY VICTORY, TRANSCENDENT, FANTASY, MIGHTY GIANT and PRIVATE ROCKET revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of THE FULL BLOOM, SMILING SUCCESS, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE, TOUCH OF LUCK, EXCEL DELIGHT, CIRCUIT HASSLER, CHARGE ON, INCANTO PREPARED, BIG PARTY, HOT KING PRAWN, THANKS FOREVER, JUDY'S STAR, PRESIDENT'S CHOICE, JADE PHOENIX, FANTASTIC SHOW, IRON KING, WILL POWER, FLYING GENIUS, CHEERFUL LEADER, LAKESHORE EAGLE, SMART PATCH, BEAUTY LEGACY, HELENE LEADINGSTAR, ENRICHMENT, DUKE WAI, COMPUTER PATCH, HONG KONG WIN, LUCKY MORE and MERIDIAN GENIUS (8.3.20) proved negative.

Firming favourite Amazing Star kept on gamely for the win after hitting the front 200m out following a pace-stalking run outside the leader Moment Of Power for a fourth win from five starts over this Valley trip this term. Waldorf was closing with every stride to grab second after making his run behind midfield. Like the winner, he has freakish form over this course and distance. Encore Boy jumped out of his skin late to get up to snatch third after settling second last from the widest gate. Fortune Booth closed well after a deep run behind midfield to just miss a placing. He relished a return to the Valley where he has a good record over this trip. Sparking Dragon held his ground after settling one off the fence in fourth. It wasn't a bad effort. Sunset Watch ran on all right after a one-off run worse than midfield. He's still acclimatizing. Country Star was disappointing after landing a spot on the back of the speed with cover from a tricky gate.
