Though it's about robots, new anime Robotics Notes isn't just about combining mecha or blazing swords. Instead, it delves into the passion behind making such an awesome machine.

The show centres on Kaito Yashio and Akiho Senomiya, the last members of Central Tanegashima High School's robotics club.

Kaito is an aloof guy who likes to play a popular online fighting game called Kill Ballad, and is one of its highest-ranked players. He's even beaten the game's creator in an online match.

His childhood friend and classmate, Akiho, is a cheerful girl with plenty of can-do spirit.

They have been hard at work trying to complete the club's long-term project of building a functional replica of Gunvarrel, a giant robot from an old TV show. But during a budget meeting, the high school principal expresses disappointment that the club hasn't shown results. She tells them that they have to win

the upcoming mini-robot tournament, or else she will shut down the club.

With only two weeks left, Akiho scrambles to find parts for an old robot created by the club.

Will Akiho and Kaito be able to save their club? Find out when the show hits Hong Kong airwaves. There is also a Robotics Notes game for PS3 and Xbox 360.
