It's official! Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are getting married this October.

Last year's hottest Korean onscreen couple, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo from 2016's hit K-drama Descendants of the Sun have recently announced they have been dating and will marry on October 31 this year.

The duo, known as the "song-song couple" by fans, have up until recently denied that they were a couple, despite rumours flying thick and fast at the end of the show's filming.

Their agencies, UAA and Blossom Entertainment, announced the news by issuing a joint press release that said: “Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo plan to be joined as a married couple on the last day of October 2017 when they host their wedding ceremony. As marriage is not a personal issue but one that involves the whole family, this was a situation that needed to be handled carefully. As such, caution was needed until a wedding was confirmed before we could convey this announcement. We ask for everyone’s understanding.”

Joong-ki, 31, rose to fame with variety show Running Man and TV series Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010), but it was not until Descendants that he became a true global star.

Hye-kyo, three years older than Joong-ki, was already an established Hallyu star even before Descendants, having played lead roles in hit drama series such as Autumn in My Heart (2000), Full House (2004) and That Winter, the Wind Blows (2013).

Congratulations, guys!
