It was a phone call that Ms Lim never wanted to receive, but it will stay with her for the rest of her life.
When a shipping container crushed the car driven by 21-year-old Lee Zi Rou, the first thing she did was call her mother for help.
“Mummy, it hurts so much!” Lee exclaimed during her brief call with Lim, who shared the heartbreaking exchange in an interview with local Chinese daily China Press on Thursday.
Sadly, Lee died shortly after making that call.
She was waiting at a traffic light at a road in Penang state on Wednesday morning when the incident occurred.
Videos shared on Malaysian social media showed the container rolling off the trailer and falling onto Lee’s car after the truck swerved into the adjacent road at high speed from a cross junction.
