Residents of the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai gathered on November 12, 2024, to pay tribute to victims of a deadly car attack. Thirty-five people were killed and dozens more injured when an SUV drove into a crowd on November 11, according to local police. The incident took place on the eve of an international air show. Police said the victims had been exercising in the area before the attack. Chinese President Xi Jinping called the incident “extremely vicious” and has ordered local governments to “strictly prevent extreme cases” and “severely punish the criminal”.
